In the grand tradition of playing this soundbite every time the word ‘Playoffs’ is uttered, who am I to go against the grain? So here it is…
And with that said, yes, I’m talking about playoffs. In fact, since I’m not a big fan of jinxes, I’m calling like I see it right now. December 10th, 2009. 32 games into an 82 game season. 50 games left. Yes, I’m calling it…
The LA Kings will make
the playoffs this season.
There. I said it. It’s quite obvious that this team… this different, unique, self-made team is nothing like what LA has seen before. And they are exploding before our very eyes. There is no doubt in my mind that they now have every tool necessary to make the playoffs this year. And, there is plenty of room for improvement. This team is built to last.
But they could melt down, you say? Yeah, they could. BUT THEY WON’T.
Kopitar: “I’ve seen some teams come in here (San Jose) and just melt down. I think we really showed our character.”
They’re improving, you say? No. They’ve improved.
Kopitar: “Even when they scored that fourth goal, we didn’t let down.”
They showed some good fight, you say? No. They fight.
Kopitar: “Looking back, last year, or previous years, we would just melt after that fourth goal. We stuck with it.”
Hmm, maybe they will make the playoffs this year, you say?
You bet your ass they will.

I predicted the Kings would make the playoffs way before the season started, but I guess it’s easier for me to run my mouth as a Red Wings fan . . . wah, you might take our spot . . .!
Nice! What’s a Red Wings fan doing browsing Kings sites if you don’t mind my asking…?
I live in LA. Been a Red Wings fan ever since I first turned on a TV to an ESPN telecast and saw Sergei Fedorov skating down the wing . . .
Kinda like me and the Steelers when I was a kid. First time I saw Bradshaw throw to Swan, I was hooked for life…
Or, you could take my stand, which I took prior to the season, and haven’t wavered even when the Kings were first in the Conference.
They will NOT make the playoffs this year.
