Postgame fun with some Canuck fans
Never had so much fun in a loss as I did last night…
Pregame: ESPN Zone + a few drinks = good times. One thing about the restaurant is that it has 4 bars. So any coordination between us fans can get tricky quickly. Regular commenter Dominick was kind enough to offer up an extra ticket, which I jumped on. He had a bit of a drive and traffic was bitch, but we met up at the Gretzky statue and got inside to Premiere section 9 just in time for the Kings to take the ice.
Game: Dom and I sat up top in row 12 in the midst of a group of Canuck fans and 2 insane young girls (Kings fans) who were ready to fight the entire group! Very funny. I ran down the aisle during the 1st and passed out the signs I had made up to the crowd. Many Canuck fans wanted them so they could turn the “thumbs down” to the up position… you can imagine what happened at the end of the game. Anyway, I spotted 2 empty seats in the 1st row, so Dom and I upgraded ourselves to some stellar seats down low in our section for the rest of the game. The first row in the 200 level is one of the best vantage points in Staples.
After Vancouver tied it up 3-3 in the 3rd, I quickly ran to the bathroom. By the time I got back, it was 4-4! Classic. After that, unfortunately, it was all downhill in our section. Vancouver fans were cheering over the listless Kings fans, punking us yet again in our own building. After the final horn blew, rest assured, 5 guys came right to me to let me have it. Signs stolen, with “thumbs up” firmly in my face, I had no choice but to take the punishment. But hands were shook and “good game” was the phrase of the moment. I could see relief plastered all over their faces and even got a few to admit it. I heard, “The Kings are much better than I thought,” many times. Yeah, they are.

Fun game to watch. Just wish TM could find more ice time for Mr. Jones. A deep freeze would do fine. Oh well, can’t win ‘em all and pretty exciting.
Glad you had a good time. Imagine the scene if you were dealing with Ranger fans.
It was funny, our waitress actually new us from up top,but because we had the tips flowing her way,she let us slide. She said”If I could get you some seats lower I would, but they’ve got me here in this section”.
We had an unobrstucted view, right at the first row of the 200′s.Awsome.
Thanks waves for hangin.Next time I’ll leave earlier, and the Kings will win.
