First off, I loved this lineup almost completely. I wrote on Jewels from the Crown that I would have waited one more game before tinkering with the lines (wrong on retrospect, down 0-2 is dire) but the tinkering I wanted was to move Simmonds up to Kopi’s line and Modin up from 4th to replace Simmonds. Guess that worked out okay, huh?
I disagreed with Clune being in, as well as Parse. I wanted Drewiske instead of Harrold, wanting size over puck movement. I can see Murray’s thinking, tho, he wanted more speed in the game and Harrold is a better skater/passer to initiate breakout. Parse is faster, but I think he was only in because Murray wanted Williams out of the game entirely and Parse is the best available.
I am hoping on Monday he skates this lineup:
Smyth-Kopi-Simmonds
Fro-Sto-Bro
Richardson-Zus-Modin
Clune-Halpern-Williams
I am torn about the 4th line; if it were in Vancouver and they had the matchups, I would worry that Vigneault would exploit the lightness of that 4th line and put the Sedins against them. In L.A., it should be safer, easier to avoid that particular matchup.
There is also the entirely valid argument that he won’t change anything because we won, don’t fix it if it ain’t broke, but I would be surprised if Williams is sat out too many games in a row. Anyway, great win!!!
Looks like Murray’s tinkering paid off. He knows how to use all the tools in his box.
The question of Williams is valid however I still believe speed is an issue. The energy and speed of Clune (6:31)and Parse (7:28) helped wear the defense, a key factor in this series.
Hiya Dominick-
Thank you for the offer of a ticket, I am going to have to pass. April 15 bit me pretty hard, I am hioping to be able to have some hockey money for the second round.
As far as the comment son the Hammond blog, I am in a semi-permanent boycott of the entire blog. I have serious issues with the policing method, in that he lets certain people rampantly negate every comment, but deletes me when I insult them for being insulting.
I am gonna post here and on Jewels From The Crown, and intend to avoid Hammonds little world of circle-jerk pessimism.
Dominick excellent post on inside. This Kings team is about winning, no doubt about it and is well on the way to becoming a milestone in the Club history.
Meanwhile the Canuck site is wasting time ranting about the refs. and believing that a winning record in the NWest is a mandate to beat Pacific Division clubs

If Vancouver falls it we be on it defensive corp.
Player-x I don’t know if this really will make a difference with the negative fans, but I think you would find a few of these replies interesting.

“circle-jerk pessimism”
Great headline X! I’ll have to put a story together for it…
excellent post Dominick. loved the love fest you created and I’m glad to see you changed at least one mind over there.
