As you all know, Dustin Penner made his Kings practice debut today in El Segundo. The following is a compilation of all the video I took at the rink, including some that wasn’t posted earlier today on LAKI.
The difference between my video and the official Kings practice video is that they are behind the glass, not in the rink area. Therefore, you don’t get any of the on-ice audio in that video as compared to mine. Hope you enjoy! I know I did.
One last thing: In case you missed it earlier today, I noticed after practice Jack Johnson skate over to Penner and ask to try out his stick. They skated with each other’s stick for a while, shooting pucks and feeling them out. At one point in the last part of the video, you can see Penner skate to center ice to have a talk with Terry Murray. That’s when you can see Jack come over and give Penner his stick back. Significance? They dropped the gloves in a game once…
That fight was awsome between JJ and Penner. I remember thinking Penners an ass, I hate when the Kings have to play against him. Man, how things have changed. LOL
Game 1 tonight! Gonna be very interesting to see how it goes. I imagine some nerves will cause some flubs. Hopefully they get somewhat comfortable by game’s end. At the very least, I want to see that line punish the D down low.
