So the “Big Saturday” I was hoping would catapult the Kings into 4th place, of course, turned into a big dud. Just about everything that could go wrong, did. And as you know, they are now clinging to 8th place.
In the last 4 games, the Kings have gone 2-2. They won 1, then got killed by Detroit. They won 1, then lost a tough battle against my new least favorite team, the Ducks-North. What’s certain is that the Kings can’t afford to continue this trend. They must string together a few wins in a row or time will run out and they will not make the post season.

Win 1, lose 1 won't cut the mustard.
As of now, the “Magic Loss Number” is down to 7. Having that precious number go from 9 down to 7 in four games is not good. LA now needs to generate a 9-7-1 record or they are likely not going to make it.
In the last 3 games, the Kings have lost 2. In their previous 15 games, the Kings lost only 1 single time in regulation. In other words, the Kings are on the verge of another slide.
Of course, we can justify those loses by saying they played 2 of the top teams in the west in those 3 games, and so if they’re going to lose, those are the games to give up. And I’d agree. However, the way this season has gone, I’m wondering; are the Kings destined (or doomed) to continue their pattern of inconsistency?
We will soon see and it doesn’t get any easier. The next 2 are against Dallas and dreaded Detroit (again). Win one, lose one? It just won’t cut it.

3 games above .500 to end the season is about right. Wouldn’t mind 4, but at this rate I’m getting a little anxious. 7 games to miss the play offs.
It feels like it’s going to come down to the wire.
I think we will cut the mustard, but barely. Our April games will be huge.
