I can't predict anything without my coffee.
What is this about? Matt Murray from Life in Hockeywood proposed a Kings blogger prediction panel for the rest of the season. Seven websites are represented on the panel and we simply predict the score of the game and give a reason why we believe it will turn out that way. I’m also including commenters from LA Kings Insider to compete against us!
Playing: There are 3 ways to score. 1) Wins and losses. 2) Plus/Minus 3) And the ‘exacta’ which is predicting the exact score of the game.
The plus/minus works like this: You get a -1 for every goal you’re off. (For example, if you’re off by 2 goals for one team and 1 goal for the other, then that’s a -3.) However, if you predict one correct score, you get a +1. Or if you predict the total number of goals in the game correct, you get a +1. But, if you predict the exact score, you get a +3 (which is effectively a +2 for two correct scores and a +1 for getting the total number of goals correct).
What do I win? This is just for fun. There’s nothing to win except mad respect and ice cred (not to be confused with street cred). If you miss a game, you’re out.

wave’s notes: I’m not a fan of morning hockey games. But hey, at least one thing is certain. The Kings WILL win today. Why? Every time the Royal Half and I have picked opposing winners, I’ve been right. So enjoy the game even though we already know the outcome.
Clearly, with such a large number picking the Islanders to win, the bitterness has descended upon us. But I’m sticking with our club. I believe they’ll do it. Or, as Fox Mulder puts it, “I want to believe.”
I didn’t think anyone would top me when I gave King & Nolan 2 goals today (ROTFL). Royal Half gave ‘em 3! Bold….
A Family Feud between the Quick Family and The Moulson Family? Would be the most boring Family Feud EVER although Richard Dawson RULES! He’d save it. Not sure where Grapes would fit in, but he’d make himself fit. We do share a birthday which just makes him cool.
Talk about desperation, putting 2 rookies with Richards? Bold…….or pathetic? Hell, what does Sutter have to lose in trying it?
If this little experiment doesn’t work, I think Lombardi knows what’s next. Grenades!
Maybe this’ll show DL he may know defense, but he ain’t got a clue about offense. Is his slip showing now? Yes. Wait’ll you see what shows if this doesn’t work.
ps – I’m not holding my breath, but I’ll wait and see.
I’m worried about my prediction since The Royal Half also picked the Isles. That’s not a good omen.

@Forum Gold: Thank you! I too wish I were wrong and the Kings were to win every game, unfortunately with our pathetic offense that is not the case.
Congrats to Bobby also but I really wish you guys picking against our team were not right. Maybe we can get our forwards to try to shoot wide instead of what they are doing. I don’t think I have seen this kind of ineptness In my 43 years as a die hard. Look out behind you guys because a lot of teams are looking to take your place by working hard. GO KINGS GO!!!
