Kingstradamus Results: Game 9

Game 9 of 32: Flames 1, Kings noneagain.

Game Headline: “Now that we’re out of the top 8, we asked the coach to give us his thoughts on the game…”

Congratulations to no one. Nobody could have predicted back to back shutouts…at least no one did. Nod to CB14 for putting some distance between himself and the rest of the pack with yet another win.

Standings are sorted by Points, Win/Loss, Plus/Minus, Exacta/Perfecta. A win gets you 2 points. Or a correct score gets you 3 points (exacta). Or a correct score (along with regulation, overtime or shootout correct) gets you 4 points (perfecta).

Plus/minus: The way this is set up, everyone will probably finish in the minus. That’s just the way it is. The best you can do in any give game is an Even or +3 or +4. There’s no limit on the minus. You get a -1 for every goal you’re wrong in your prediction. Then one of the following… If you predict one correct score then you get a +1. If you predict the total number of goals in the game correct then you get a +1. If you predict the exact score then you get a +3. If you predict the exact score and ending (reg/ot/so) then you get a +4.

Playoffs: The Top 10 predictors in the standings at the end of the regular season will qualify for the esteemed Playoff Prediction Panel. You will be looked upon for guidance on hockey blogs and admired all across the Kingdom. Trumpets will sound wherever you go. There’s still loads of time to crack the Top 10.

Here comes the nas-T-ness! #15 and rising!

  • Kingsfanone

    Shouldn’t I have 8 points, being 4-5 in W-L?

I know I’m bad, and I could use all the help I can get! :D

  • How do I and Royal Half have 10 games each while the rest of you have 9?

Are you getting back at me Waves for not reading your posts?! :?: ;-)

What kind of a fan predicts this team to score twice- a Die Hard. This current drought is shocking.

  • McSorleyfan

This drought can’t last forever, and no drought ever does… but I’m tempted to tune out until it’s over. If I wasn’t still holding tickets for the rest of the season, that’s what I’d do. This is still slavageable, barely, but I’ll say this… I bought big this season based on the moves made in the offseason. The moves made at the deadline and the way they pan out will determine wether I renew. The season ticket is of no value if the seats are available for any game without paying in advance. For a buyer, it’s paying up-front for a product whose value has yet to be determined. You make that move based on the likelihood the product will be consistently good. For this to happen, the ownership and management and players must live up to their side of the bargain, and this season the Kings have not, thus far.

  • I’m beginning to dislike this game. Not for the spirit of it. But, for the realization of what it feels like, to root against your team. SUCKS!!! Like Quisp, feeling like a quiter, yo! CB14 it’s yours’ to lose.

    gKg!

Geezus, I hope Murray is happy that he brainwashed the team so well that they REALLY can’t score anymore……literally!

I’ve said this before, and I will repeat…….SOMEBODY better call Tony Robbins RIGHT NOW!!!

This is getting pretty pathetic. Cmon, somebody do something! And that rumor that started this morning because Brownie wasn’t at practice sure tells you exactly how fragile and on edge all ofthe fans are right now.

Me? I’m not on the edge. I’ve clearly already jumped straight off, cuz I picked the Flames to win that game. I’m a friggin’ Kings fan and I’m picking the other team to win nowadays. This team digs themselves outa this hole and does well in the playoffs, I will personally be on a lot more meds than I’m already taking, I’ll tell you what!

I don’t want to see them miss the playoffs. I got enough of that when I was a STH. It’s one reason I no longer am one. Beating Detroit in the playoffs that one year, that was one of the happiest times of my life. I truly miss that.

    On this President’s Day, and being an election year, I asked all the current and potential candidates how could we solve our scoring problems here in L.A. Here were there responses;

Newt Gringrich – “It’s all economics about the law of supply and demand, You have your best player (Jonathon Quick) playing goal. You want to score? Move him to center.”

Rick Santorum – “It all starts at home with the family. Look at the Detroit Red Wings, 23 in a row! You have a lot of American born players, which is good, but look at your current conditions there at Staples Center and there you will find your answer.”

Mitt Romney – “My mormon faith tells me to continue loving all your family members equally. Continue loving and playing your 3rd and 4th wives (uhhh, I mean lines) equally and you shall achieve your goals.

and the current commander-in-cheif says – “You shouldn’t have traded Simmonds.”

    • Ha! Good stuff. Yeah, that 3rd wife really needs to step it up. The 4th wife is holding her own though. The 1st wife really needs to establish more ‘home presence’ though. If nothing else, both sides of the aisle can agree Obama got at least one thing right!
